Licensing - A New Chapter in Songwriting
Following her retirement from a long career in software development, Kay is embracing the opportunity to devote more time and creative energy to her lifelong passion for music. She continues to write, record, and release her own songs, while expanding her focus to include songwriting opportunities for other recording artists and music placements in film, television, and other visual media.
Her growing catalog of original compositions ranges from intimate piano-driven ballads and emotionally rich contemporary pop to upbeat, melodic songs and expressive instrumentals. Many of her recordings feature layered arrangements that combine her own piano and keyboard performances with the artistry of accomplished session musicians, creating music that is both personal and cinematic.
In addition to her vocal recordings, Kay has developed instrumental versions and alternate arrangements of several compositions, allowing their melodies and emotional character to tell a story without words. She is particularly drawn to the possibilities of music in film and television, where a melody can deepen a scene, evoke a memory, or communicate emotions that dialogue alone cannot express.
While continuing to share her music with listeners through streaming platforms and future releases, Kay is actively exploring opportunities for other artists to record her songs, as well as synchronization licensing, songwriting collaborations, and original compositions for visual media.
